BrainFeed ("we", "us", or "our") is a mobile learning application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using BrainFeed, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials via Firebase Authentication (Google LLC). If you sign in with a third-party provider (e.g., Google), we receive basic profile information from that provider.
Usage data. We collect information about how you interact with the app, including cards you view, how long you spend on each card, cards you bookmark or skip, quiz responses, and goals you create. This data is used to personalize your feed.
Device information. We may collect your device type and operating system version for debugging and compatibility purposes.
How we use your information
- To personalize your learning feed based on your interests and behavior
- To generate goal-based content relevant to your learning objectives
- To apply spaced repetition so content resurfaces at the right time
- To improve the app and fix bugs
- To respond to support requests
We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.
Third-party services
BrainFeed uses the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy:
- Firebase Authentication (Google LLC) — manages account sign-in and identity
- Render — hosts the BrainFeed backend infrastructure
- AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google) — process prompts to generate personalized content; inputs are not stored or used to train their models beyond their standard terms
Data retention
We retain your account and usage data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will permanently remove your account and associated data within 30 days.
Children's privacy
BrainFeed is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
